Anubodh : If there is a single ancient bansuri player to be named who else could it be but Krishna. Bhagvan Krishna is said to have walked the streets of Vrindavan in India some five thousand years ago.

Pandit Ronu Majumdar : Ronu ji’s Bansuri is transcendental. It transports you to a zone where divinity reigns supreme and produces a balmy effect thereby taking us on a spiritual journey.

Naveen : At the tender age of three, Naveen started singing. He gave his first public performance, in a stage drama. With no formal training he started playing the flute.

Shashank Subramanyam : t his six Shashank picked his father’s flute and stunned onlookers by playing, spontaneously, to signal his entry into the flute world. His maiden flute concert was at Adelaide, Australia in Sept 1990 when he was eleven followed by his debut in India on Dec 20, 1990.

rasikas.org : Mali often dubbed as “never before-never after phenomenon” has just changed the idea of flute playing in the carnatic minds. People still have evergreen memories of tossing coins to see whether Mali would come or not. And after he comes, will he play or not?..But once he starts playing, its a different experience.

Wikipedia : The Sikkil Sisters are top artistes of the All India Radio and they have been giving hundreds of performances at all the sabhas, television and elsewhere, both within India and abroad. They blend the tone and play on their flutes and the merger is total and the effect remarkable. They are known for the chaste, orthodox style in rendering raga, kriti and swara.

David Nelson : T. Viswanathan’s grandmother, Veena Dhanammal, was considered one of the finest veena players of her century. His sister, T. Balasaraswati, was regarded as the greatest exponent of Bharata Natyam, the classical dance of South India. At an early age, he was sent to live and study with his flute teacher, T.N. Swaminatha Pillai, and throughout his entire musical career he wove the two styles, that of his family and that of his guru, into a seamless musical art.
