Jorge Veiga @allmusic: Jorge Veiga departed from a life of misery as a shoe-shiner and doer of small jobs to a highly successful career as a samba singer. His specialty were humorous Carnival sambas and sambas-de-breque in which the figure of the malandro (street smart) was frequently central.

Stefano Bollani : In 1996, he met Enrico Rava at the Teatro Metastasio in Prato who immediately invited him to play in Paris with him: “You’re young, you don’t have a family. Take the risk, give up pop and devote yourself full-time to the music you love.”

Luiz Bonfá Discography : Luiz Bonfá is well known for his compositions including “Manhã de Carnaval” from the film “Orfeu Negro”, “The Gentle Rain”, and “Almost in Love”. He is also famous for his incredible way of playing the guitar. He plays melody, rhythm, and bass simultaneously, making his guitar sound like an orchestra.

Orquestra Tabajara : Criada há 63 anos, a Orquestra Tabajara é uma colecionadora de recordes. Ninguém animou tantos bailes quanto ela. Além de ser a orquestra mais antiga em atividade no país, e certamente uma das de maior longevidade no mundo, seu maestro, Severino Araujo, é o músico de carreira mais longa em uma só banda, com 61 anos de trabalho ininterrupto na Tabajara.
