Wikipedia : This day (December 31, 2015), in Los Angeles, California, died Natalie Maria Cole ,an American singer, songwriter and performer, the daughter of jazz legend Nat King Cole.

Official Web Site : November 2010 saw the release of Natalie Cole’s memoir “Love Brought Me Back” a story of loss and recovery, sorrow and joy, success and despair and, finally, success again.. This is a story of sisters, Natalie and Cooke, who throughout Natalie’s illness was one of her biggest supporters and also of the sisters who made the transplant possible, Patty and Jessica.

@allmusic : She fully embraced the move with the 1991 LP Unforgettable: With Love, earning Grammy Awards and landing a number one pop album that eventually sold over five million copies. The title track featured her doing a duet with her father via electronic elaboration.

@last.fm : The daughter of celebrated crooner Nat King Cole, she was exposed to the greats of jazz, soul and blues at an early age and began performing at the age of 11. Her debut album in 1975, Inseparable, won her immediate praise, with the smash single This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) (#1 R&B, #6 Pop) winning her a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female, a category that had been monopolized by Aretha Franklin. She also was named the Grammys’ Best New Artist of 1975. She attended the Northfield Mount Hermon School in Northfield, MA.

@Discogs : Four years after her return to recording after a much-publicized battle with drug addiction, Natalie Cole found herself unexpectedly experiencing a virtual reinvention as a bestselling artist and performer, thanks to a project she had longed to do for many years. Unforgettable with Love was the soulful singer’s way of paying tribute to her late, legendary father, Nat King Cole, and marked her label debut for Elektra Records.
