This day (August 11, 2012), in Chicago, Illinois, died Earle Lavon Freeman Sr. A.k.a. Von Freeman a.k.a. ‘Vonski’, American hard bop jazz tenor saxophonist. He is the father of jazz saxophonist Chico Freeman.
