Chris Brown‘>Bobby Womack : Bobby also played guitar in Cooke’s band. In the wake of Cooke’s shooting death under mysterious circumstances, the Valentinos broke up and Womack turned to songwriting, guitar playing and a solo career.
@Soulwalking : When Bobby was 10 years old, he and his brothers (under the name of Curtis Womack and the Womack Brothers) recorded a single on the Pennant imprint in 1954, entitled ‘Buffalo Bill’ b/w ‘Bible Tells Me So’.
@last.fm : Renamed the Valentinos, and encouraged by Cooke to go in a more secular and commercial direction, they scored a hit with Womack’s “It’s All Over Now” in 1964; the Rolling Stones’ version of the song became a major hit, earning Womack generous royalty payments.
