Wikipedia : This day (October 5, 1992), in Birmingham, Alabama, died Eddie Kendricks, an American singer who co-founded The Temptations.

Eddie Kendricks : The greatest falsetto, the sweetest smile, responsible for dress and style. However, the Expressive vocalist was known not only for his years as an original member of Motown’s supergroup, The Temptations, but also for his major success as a solo artist in the 1970’s.

@allmusic : Sadly, the 1990s would see the premature deaths of no less than three former members of the Temptations. First, Ruffin died of a cocaine overdose in 1991, followed by the deaths of Kendricks in 1992 and Melvin Franklin (from a brain seizure) in 1995.

@last.fm : He is noted for his distinctive falsetto singing style and was one of the lead singers of the Motown singing group The Temptations during the 1960s and early 1970s, and also for recording hits as a solo artist during the 1970s.
