Wikipedia : This day (July 16, 2014), in Zurich (Switzerland), died John Dawson ‘Johnny’ Winter III a.k.a. Johnny Winter American blues guitarist and singer.
Johnny Winter | The Official Site : There’s a famous story about a time in 1962 when Johnny and his brother went to see B.B. King at a Beaumont club called the Raven. The only whites in the crowd, they no doubt stood out.
The Johnny Winter Story : Born cross-eyed and albino, John Dawson Winter III disregarded Mother Nature’s unkindness to forge a career as one of the few great white blues-rockers.
@last.fm : Winter also produced three Grammy Award-winning albums for blues legend Muddy Waters. Since his time with Waters, he has recorded several Grammy-nominated blues albums and continues to tour extensively.
@Discogs : Something of of a musical child prodigy, he grew up in Beaumont, Texas, on a diet of blues and rock ‘n’ roll. As a teen, nearly every weekend he would hitch-hike to Louisiana to play in small night clubs.
