Co-written by Minaj, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin, and Zedd, and produced by the latter two, Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat” is characterized by heavy drum machine beats and rushing synthesizers. To promote the release of the music video for “Beauty and a Beat” featuring Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, alongside his PR team, orchestrated a prank hinting at a scandal, involving a supposed theft of his laptop and the supposed thief sharing a video link on Twitter. Co-directed by Bieber and Jon Chu, the video displays a lively water park scene, male and female dancers and playful and suggestive dancing between Bieber and Minaj.
