Jaco Pastorius takes the Word of Mouth Big Band to ‘Aurex Jazz Festival 1982’

During the first week of September 1982, Jaco Pastorius, the Word of Mouth Big Band and a couple of special guests such as Toots Thielemans took part in the "Aurex Jazz Festival" held in three different Japanese venues : Budokan, Tokyo (September 1st), Osaka Festival Hall (September 4th) and Yokohama Stadium (September 5th).

This day (June 15, 1996), in Beverly Hills, California, died Ella Fitzgerald, an American jazz and song vocalist, also known as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz, and Lady Ella, who had a vocal range spanning three octaves and was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing and intonation, and a horn-like improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
