This song was produced by Nathan Chapman and Taylor Swift. Inspired by a classmate named Drew Hardwick, Taylor wrote this song after experiencing unrequited love. Nathan Chapman has also worked with other country artists like Shania Twain. An interesting anecdote is that Drew, unaware he was the inspiration for the song, came to see Taylor in concert after the song’s release.
